Well, the Vonage guy offered to call me back, instead of having me sit there on hold, listening to their horrible music loop (same song, over and over). So that was nice. Of course, it will take about 24 hours for their engineers to effect this massively complicated transfer. Who knows, maybe it really is complicated. And maybe by tomorrow night, our home phone will work again.
Ugh. Way too complicated. I don't make too many long distance calls, so I have a minimum plan with Verizon, where I pay per call, but I don't use it, so it's like $10 a month. I use my cellphone, and still I have rollover minutes that are expiring. By using my cell and email, I find I don't really need a landline for much. But I like having it in case of say a power outage or losing my cell. Is Vonage really worth all that?
