I have not done one of these in a while, so let's jump in the time machine and head back to 1988...
Robyn Hitchcock was beloved by music critics in the late 1980s (and
probably still is). The distinctive points of view and odd lyrics of his
songs resonated with a certain type of person, and I definitely wanted
to see him live. This tour was extra special because he brought along
Peter Buck of R.E.M. to play guitar.
(The ticket price index is at $8.50 here. Today, in some bars and clubs you can barely get a beer for $8.50.)
